Our Theme:
R.L.C. - "Resurrection Lives for Christ"
Our Mission Statement:
"Each one playing their part in God's miracle of Second
Chances and Renewal (resurrection) in people's lives."
Resurrection is a Christian Church
associated with the Lutheran
Church - Missouri Synod and dedicated to Jesus Christ as
Savior and King and to proclaiming, through the Holy Spirit,
the truth and power of His Word. We recognize that God has a
unique purpose for our congregation in this time and place,
which is to make more and stronger disciples.
We, therefore, are committed to seeking out
as many people as possible, sharing the good news that
brings a man, woman or child into a personal relationship
with Jesus Christ.
Also, we see every person as uniquely gifted
by God to serve in His Kingdom, and encourage each
individual to become mature Christians through worship,
Bible study, small group participation, prayer, and using
their God given gifts in service to each other and to those
who do not yet know Him.
Our Vision
Statement:
"Christians are people who remember their own
weaknesses and failure. They are under reconstruction. So they
offer hope and forgiveness to people who fall and who need
Jesus' healing grace and hope." -- Donald M. Joy
We see Resurrection Lutheran Church as a
collection of God's people together -- each, saint and
sinner; in various levels of hurting and health; of all
different ages and ethnic backgrounds; trusting in Jesus as
Savior and Lord. Out of this diversity, God has Created a
unity as a family of faith, which we nurture through our
caring and love for one another, agreement in our teaching,
and a commitment to this vision of ministry.
We see our Ministry rooted in:
Reconstruction
Reaching out to people facing hurting and difficult life
issues so that they might experience health in Jesus Christ
-- health in body (physical, emotional and relational) and
health in spirit -- by providing relevant and meaningful
ministries.
Re-creation
Raising up a joyful and healing experience of a nurturing
Christian (congregational) family life. Through a dynamic
worship and fellowship life we believe each person will be
enjoying the fruits of wholeness, holiness and spiritual
maturity in connection with other family members.
Renewal
Renewing each member with such enthusiasm that they are
discovering and utilizing their giftedness as a child of God
as we serve both those inside the church and outside.
We believe that God will accomplish this in our midst
through a strong preaching and teaching ministry, the
frequent celebrations of the Sacraments, and consistency in
prayer.
Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and
dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness,
humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and
forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another.
Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put
on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Let the
peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one
body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the word of
Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another
with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual
songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. And whatever you do,
whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord
Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father throught him. --
Colossians 3:12-17
