Reminder:

Lutheran Border Concerns is recommending that all team members have a valid passport for re-entry into the United States. If you do not currently have a passport, we recommend that you make your application as soon as possible to avert any last-minute issues in the approval process.

Cost estimate:

  • Team Deposit of $100.00 per person is due by February 22, 2009. Please write a check to Resurrection and designate it for "Mexico Team". Place all payments in the offering plate
  • The total team contribution is $550.00 per person, including airfare.

    Airfare 239.00
    Food 40.00
    Lodging 84.00
    Materials 90.00
    Total 550.00
  • Scholarship money may be available for Resurrection Youth. This is normally reserved for youth who may not be able to otherwise afford the costs involved in the mission trip. See Chuck Schwanke if you would like to be considered for a possible scholarship.

Airfare:
All team members are responsible for securing their own Airfare. We want to be in San Diego by 11:00 AM on April 21st. You should plan your return trip to Seattle so that it leaves no earlier than 3:00pm on April 28th.

Southwest 61 - April 28, 2008 - depart San Diego @ 5:35 PM

Resurrection en Mexico, 2008

This year in Tijuana we:

  • repaired gutters and downspouts in the student center
  • put on a fresh coat of paint in student center great-room
  • installed a chair-rail in the student center great-room
  • replaced the ceiling fans in the student center great-room
  • fixed some major electrical wiring issues in the student center
  • mud and tape pastor Romillio's new house
  • took pastor Bladimir and family to Ensenada
  • ate a bunch of tacos

Resurrection en Mexico, 2007

This year in Canyon del Saenz we:

  • installed gutters and downspouts in the student center
  • built some nifty and very sturdy picnic tables
  • painted the big toy
  • visited Ensenada with Bladimir and family (and Moises!)
  • ate a bunch of tacos

Resurrection en Mexico, 2006

This year in Canyon del Saenz we:

  • repaired and re-hung the ceiling fans in the sanctuary
  • finished the addition on Pastor Bladimir's house (insulation, sheetrock, mud and tape)
  • moved a huge pile of dirt from the upper part of the lot to behind the new retaining wall below the garden
  • re-painted the exterior of Bladimir's house
  • installed new kitchen cabinets and double sink for Sylvia
  • fixed up the plumbing on the back of the house
  • disassembled the big toy and re-assembled it on top of the hill (where we moved all that dirt from)
  • painted the big toy
  • oh, yeah, we ate some tacos, too

This year in Canyon del Saenz we:

  • removed the roofing material from over the classrooms
  • re-roofed both the sanctuary and classroom sides of the building
  • re-roofed the storage shed
  • tiled and grouted the showers and floor on the women's bathroom
  • set two toilets
  • painted the big toy
  • installed a fence
  • mudded, taped and painted the sanctuary
  • installed ceiling fans
  • ate some tacos

  • swapped the sanctuary and classrooms
  • painted the big toy
  • ate some tacos

  • installed sheet-rock and insulation in Bladimir and Elya's houses
